I can't see distributed content in my instance

If you expect to see new content in your instance because another member has shared content with you, consider the following possible causes.

  • You don't have the right permission.

When content is shared with another instance, it is merged into the CURRENT STATE of the target instance. To view the CURRENT STATE, you must be the editor of that instance. If you do not have that permission, ask the instance editor who shared the original data to share it with an instance for which you are an editor.

  • Refresh your page.

Refresh the page to ensure that the browser loads the latest data.

  • Give it some time.

Merging newly shared content into the CURRENT STATE may take a short time. Wait a few seconds, refresh the page, and check again.

  • You are looking in the wrong place.

To view shared content, you must be in the CURRENT STATE of the instance to which the content was distributed.

  • You restored a previous snapshot.

If you restore a snapshot after receiving shared content from another member, the current contents will be fully replaced by the contents of the restored snapshot. If you restored a snapshot by mistake, see here for instructions on how to revert the action.

  • You have lost connection to the internet.

If your internet connection is interrupted, the browser may not receive the updated data from the server, so the new content may not appear. Once your connection is restored, refresh the page and check again.

  • There has been a server-side error and the data sharing process did not succeed.

In rare cases, a server-side error may prevent the shared data from being processed successfully. Wait a few minutes, refresh the page, and check again. If the content still does not appear, contact the person who shared it with you to confirm that the sharing completed successfully.
