Monitoring resource usage
Resource monitoring is available to all users, though what you can view depends on your role in relation to the resource pool.
Who can access resource monitoring:
All users can view a basic overview and credit usage if they:
Manage the resource pool, or
Have an instance editor or space administrator role in a space within the resource pool
Resource pool managers can review activity across all their managed resource pools and drill down to the space level
Space administrators can review activity within the spaces they manage
The monitoring dashboard
You'll find the usage monitoring dashboard in the user menu at the top right corner of your screen, under Resources:

General usage
Drilling down
You can drill down to sub-levels in the plan and credit utilization tabs. Here's how the hierarchy works:
Level structure:
Resource pool level (default): Contains all resource pools you have permission to view
Organization level: Shows organizations directly linked to the resource pool, or organizations containing spaces linked to the resource pool
Resource pool managers see all matching organizations
Other users see only organizations with spaces where they're a space administrator or instance editor
Space level: Displays spaces in the selected organization that are linked to the selected resource pool
Resource pool managers see all spaces
Other users only see spaces where they're space administrators or instance editors
Privacy considerations and redaction
Nuvolos takes privacy seriously when it comes to usage monitoring. We display only the essential identifying information needed. This means certain object names are redacted on the monitoring dashboard. Here's how it works:
Drill-down menu:
Resource pool and organization names are never redacted
Space names:
For privacy, we only show space names if you're a space administrator or have an instance editor role in that space
Other spaces appear with a numerical identifier
You can still view usage data, but the space content remains hidden
Plan and credit utilization tabs:
The donut charts show how resources are distributed at each level. Depending on your role, some names may be redacted:
At the resource pool level:
No redaction
At the organization level:
Spaces are redacted unless you're a space administrator or instance editor
At the space level:
NCU and credit utilization charts (drill down to user level with email addresses):
Resource pool managers: No redaction
Space administrators: No redaction
Instance editors: All emails redacted except your own
Filesystem utilization (drills down to instance level):
Resource pool managers: Instance names redacted unless you're also a space administrator or instance editor in that instance
Space administrators: No redaction
Instance editors: All instances redacted except those where you're an editor
Time range
By default, the report shows data for the current month, but you can select different time windows (up to 1 year maximum).
Enabling services
Resource pool managers can enable additional services on the overview page.
Structure
Overview

The overview page gives you a high-level snapshot of your resource pool. The top tiles display:
Your subscription term
NCU usage and capacity for the current contracted period
File system usage and capacity for the current contracted period
Your current credit balance
Resting usage and capacity for the current contracted period
Below that, resource pool managers can enable additional services (if included in their subscription), such as:
At the bottom, you can manage Large File Storage drives.
Plan utilization view

This view is available only to resource pool managers.
Available metrics:
NCU overview - Track standard Nuvolos application runs
Storage utilization - Monitor filesystem and resting usage
User activity overview - View user activity patterns
NCU overview
See your NCU usage over time and by sub-level:
Timeline chart: Shows daily, weekly, or monthly NCU hours for the selected time range
Donut chart: Breaks down total NCU hours by sub-level (Organizations for resource pool level, spaces for organization level, users/emails for space level)
Filesystem utilization
Monitor your storage usage with these two charts:
Timeline: Shows filesystem utilization in GiBs, grouped daily, weekly, or monthly
Donut chart: Displays utilization by sub-level for the most recent date in your selected time range
The timeline includes an orange line showing your Subscription limit—the total storage included in your subscription. Each day, we compare your storage footprint against this limit. If you exceed the limit, overage charges apply daily until resolved.
What the sub-levels represent:
Resource pool level: Organizations
Organization level: Spaces
Space level: Instances
Resting storage utilization
This report follows the same structure as filesystem utilization. Resting storage can also have a Subscription limit if you prepaid for it. With pure pay-as-you-go, your limit is 0 and daily credit deductions apply based on usage.
User activity overview
Track application runs over time with a timeline that displays daily, weekly, or monthly data based on your selected time range.
Credit utilization view

Everyone with resource pool access can view credit utilization, though what you see depends on your role.
Three ways to view credit utilization:
By resources: See total credit usage grouped by resource type for your chosen time range
Deselect resource groups by clicking the resource icon (this also removes them from the sub-levels chart)
By sub-levels: View total credit usage grouped by organizational levels
Resource pool level: Organizations
Organization level: Spaces
Space level: Users
You may see "orgless," "spaceless," or "userless" transactions for usage that can't be mapped to specific levels
Deselect items by clicking the resource icon
Timeline: Track credit usage over time with daily, weekly, or monthly grouping
Bar colors correspond to resource groups
Inventory view
The inventory view is only available for users that are resource pool managers at the resource pool. It provides a detailed table view of all orgs/spaces associated with the resource pool, in an exportable format:

Generate CSV reports
You can export what you see in the inventory view to CSV for further analysis. Use the Columns button to control what information is shown on the screen about the orgs/spaces. Click the Export to CSV button to download the displayed information in CSV format.
Find spaces with custom filters
You can leverage built-in filters like Orphaned, Archived, etc. to filter the list of spaces according to the most common use cases. You can export the filtered list as well to CSV.
Identify overusing spaces and notify admins
You can sort spaces in the inventory based on their storage footprint in descending order. If you click on any of the rows, it will expand and show the name and email of space administrators. You can thus contact the administrators of spaces with large storage footprints to discuss storage optimization.
Free up space by removing orphan spaces
Resource pool managers cannot directly delete objects in an org/space to free up resources; this must be managed by space admins. The only exceptions are spaces with no administrators, also called 'orphan' spaces. Such spaces are generated when personnel leave an organization and do not invite anyone to inherit their spaces. Orphan spaces can be deleted by resource pool managers to free up the storage they consume.
Modify instance quota
Space administrators can increase their space quota in self-service, with some constraints to avoid runaway costs. Resource pool managers have greater flexibility in changing the quota, as they have a complete overview of the resource pool.
First, select an organization to work with in the inventory view.

You can see each space's current quota by enabling it in the columns dropdown.

Under the 'Actions' column, you can modify each space's filesystem quota. As explained, this means setting the instance quota of every instance to this new value.
The system has a cap on the space quota that RP managers can set in their spaces, which should be sufficient for almost all use cases. If you have a business justification to further increase the quota beyond what the system allows, please contact support to have your case reviewed.

You need to confirm the changes.

The operation will update the quota of all instances inside the space in the background, which can take a few seconds depending on the number of instances in the space.

After 2 seconds, the window will automatically close, and you will see the updated quota in the list.
